BUNKIES-Episode 2- HELP!

KraKs Media

We had to wait a whole week to watch a new episode and all we got was 5minutes 31 seconds, including opening montage🙄… This reaction is coming in late because I just felt like there isn’t much to discuss so why not just wait for episode 3 and just react to both at the same time but then… Let’s just get into my opinion of episode 2. Leggo🤗

This episode started with Shola complaining that Deedee is boring and is always cleaning the room, washing clothes or doing the dishes. This is a ridiculous statement for someone who would mess up the whole room just to get ready to go out, to make. In this episode, we see Shola getting ready to go out and the whole place is scattered. Deeded comes in and confronts Shola asking her why the room isn’t in good shape and the next thing Shola would say is ” see, see I’ll arrange it when I come back, I ordered a ride and he is waiting for me”…Really??🤔 we could have said, yeah these things happen, Most time, you lose track of time when getting ready to go out and have to wait until you return before cleaning up. But, according to Deedee, Shola is used to making that excuse and Deedee always ends up cleaning the mess. If Shola truly has the intention of always leaving the house clean, she could have cleaned the room before ordering her ride or is that too much to ask for????
Let’s just say it, Shola is rough and very inconsiderate. She thinks Deedee has a problem and is a control freak.

She claims that she doesn’t like to wash plate, clothes or sweep but she can do other house chores like 🤔🤔 I really do not know 🤷‍♀️.
I can totally relate to the situation going on because there are people like Shola out there🤦‍♀️, they feel there is nothing wrong with their behavior and their excuses. I really can’t wait for these two to be friends or start beating each other, one must happen. This show is an interesting one and I would really want to see how much they can do with the story and i also hope this week’s duration is longer because people are stuck at home and busy on the internet and this is the best time to get their attention.

What do you think about Shola ‘s behavior?
Should Deedee just let her be and maybe demarcate the room😂? That would be hilarious.
What do you think?

Love.Wedding.Repeat

Synopsis

While trying to make his sister’s wedding day go smoothly, Jack finds himself juggling an angry ex-girlfriend, an uninvited guest with a secret, a misplaced sleep sedative, and the girl that got away in alternate versions of the same day.
The Theme of this movie is how one’s destiny can be altered from one simple change in time.

Review
Honestly, when I found this movie, I wasn’t so excited about it until I saw Sam Claflin(Jack) and Olivia Munn(Dina). I wasn’t excited because viewers are used to wedding stories and it just felt like it was going to be like other movies with the wedding that we have seen but it turns out that I was WRONG. The movie was funny and entertaining. It’s an easy watch and the location was beautifully filmed.

The acting was good and I love the cast in general. I love what was done with the storytelling. Instead of telling a tale about how two characters are meant to be, it tells a story where who you end up with depends largely on the circumstances you’re in and how you react to them. It also critiques the tired trope of a “lover” showing up at a wedding and confessing their undying love for the object of their affection.

This movie is made for a good laugh, stunning visuals and something to take from it. Sam Claflin did a wonderful job and the rest of the cast too fit perfectly in their roles and provided the necessary humor to all the mess that was going around (situational comedy). I like the awkwardness in this film because in the real world people can be awkward have social insecurities, flaws, etc. and the awkwardness in this film makes the entire movie funnier 🤣. Plenty of dysfunctional amusing characters, especially the insecure guy (Chad) trying to convince his girlfriend (Amanda) that they should become engaged or Rebecca that kept stalking Greg and complimenting his outfit.
This movie gave us two scenarios of how the wedding could have happened and normally, plot repeat would confuse me, but this was done right.
Also, the comedic acting in this movie is hysterical and the way the story escalated 🤣🤣is very funny, Maid of honor or sorry😅 man of honor, Bryan gave the most embarrassing speech ever and even ruined the wedding cake. Amanda knocked Jack’s nose with her forehead because her present boyfriend, Chad told her that Jack her ex hates her. Jack and Hayley ruined Bryan’s opportunity to meet Vitelli, an award-winning filmmaker because Jack accidentally drugged his drink. Jack also slept off while Dina was telling him about her mother that died of cancer. There are a lot of scenes to look out for in this movie

Verdict.
I would rate this movie 4/5 because I think that this movie is a refreshing spin on a rom-com and all in all, this is definitely a movie I would recommend and watch again👌.

Miracle in Cell No. 7:Turkish

Synopsis

This film is based on a mentally ill man called Memo and his undying love for his daughter, Ova. The lived a happy life until Memo was falsely accused of killing a high-ranking military official’s daughter. The film is said to be highly emotional and moving and trust me, it is.
Memo was sent to prison and Ova vows to prove her father’s innocence. She tried looking for the only person that was present at the scene when the incident happened and when she did find him, he disappeared. Memo went through hell in the prison and because the cases involved a High- ranking military officer, the case was rushed without any investigation and Memo despite his mental illness was sentenced to death by hanging.

When the only witness finally showed up, the military officer took his life leaving Memo with no witness. The story took an unexpected twist when another prisoner, Yusuf Aga took Memo’s place and was executed. crazy right? I know. Memo was assisted out of prison and was reunited with his daughter Ova.

Review
The work of art in this movie is mind-blowing. The plots, the storytelling and characters were sublime. The heart-wrenching truth about humility and humanity in this film would leave you shedding tears while watching this film because the acting was so real.

Verdict
I would rate the movie 5/5 because this movie deserves it. It was real, relatable and emotional. The performances of the characters were enjoyable and convincing. Despite the fact that this movie was shot mostly inside the prison, it was nevertheless enjoyable, captivating and emotional. I would advise that you gather enough tissue when watching this film, depending on how emotional you can get. I would also advise that you watch with subtitles because of some scenes.

KraKsTV: BUNKIES EP1

Synopsis

This web series is about Shola and Deedee. These two young ladies are expected to share a room together in an apartment given to them by Deedee’s uncle.
Review
Who waits for a roommate to arrive before picking a bed space? Like who??? Because I was really dumbfounded when Shola arrived and started accusing Deedee of picking a space in her absence. Mind you this apartment was given to them by Deedee’s uncle not Shola’s uncle. Let me start from the top so you can understand why Shola’s attitude left me stunned.
In scene one we saw Deedee sweep the room, do the dishes and clean the house. Deedee made it known to us that her uncle got the apartment for her because of school and four days after she moved in he called her to notify her that she would be having a roommate to come to stay with her as the apartment is for two. A day after, the new roommate calls and says she would be coming in the next day… The moment Shola started knocking on the door, I knew she was going to be a lot of trouble. she just kept knocking the door aggressively and when Deedee finally opened the door and asked if she was the new roommates Guess what?! She didn’t respond. She just pushed Deedee out of her way and went into the house, dropped her bag on the floor, sat down and immediately requested for water without even saying good morning.

Deedee went ahead to show her the room and her bed space but surprisingly, Shola started making trouble by saying that Deedee should have waited for her before picking a space

How do you tell a person that moved in four days before you did arrange the room and did all the cleaning to wait for you before picking a place to sleep??? Like how?? It was clear that Shola was ready to create a fuss, so in order for peace to reign, Deedee decided to swap places with Shola.

Just when we thought Shola was done with her troubles, she realizes that her phone needed to be charged but unfortunately for her, only the down bunk has a socket. I was thinking she was going to politely ask Deedee to allow her charge using the socket beside her bed. But no!! Because Shola is a rude bully with no decency, she went to Deedee and told her she wants her space back saying the top bunk isn’t well ventilated.
I don’t know how these two would survive together because it is clear that shola likes to make trouble and Deedee wouldn’t allow her to always have her way. I just hope these two get along because it is going to be really tiring to see them fight all the time, although, it looks like it is going to be a lot of fun

Verdict

I won’t rate this series yet because we are just 7 minutes into the series. I hope the next episode is longer than this one and I would love to see how the story evolves

Drawing Strength

Synopsis
Drawing Strength is a movie about a born again Christian enterprising architect, Lami Washik, whose career is being celebrated by the society, gracing magazine covers and getting high profile architectural designs. But while she’s busy hugging the limelight and basking in the accolades of a successful career, the real hand behind her designs is a crackhead called Rufus who use to be her school mate.

Review
The storyline of this film brought up so many discussions like was Lami wrong? Receiving accolades for what a job that she didn’t do. Here is my own opinion.
Yes we can say Lami was wrong, taking the glory for another person’s drawing, having the spotlight all to herself while someone else is doing the job. What she did was cheating, she lied to the world. Yes. Fine. But let’s look at this from another angle.

Rufus is a drug addict and he is in no way stable to close a deal with any responsible client, I mean this guy made it clear that he doesn’t want the fame, all he wants is the money to satisfy his addictions but Lami, on the other hand, is a businesswoman who is smart, has the money, networking skills and time to go about sourcing for deals and closing them. And it is not like she enjoys Rufus doing the drawing because there was a scene where she tried doing the design on her own but couldn’t get a hang of it

I love the fact that the writer of this film was able to give us a background story to how lami and Rufus met and how the whole deal thing started. Lami supported him with cash while they were in school and even helped arrange IT and because he was good, Lami connected them with good jobs, he did the drawing and they share the cash. She took her own part of the money and was smart with it but Rufus spent his on drugs. Lami even went further to pay for Rufus’s rehabs and treatment, rent and more .so what are we saying???

Also what was with Lami fraternizing with Ajuma who betrayed her?

Ajuma just made me realize that no matter how small your circle of friends is, you would still find that judas amongst them. Ajuma is a traitor and nooooo I won’t agree with the resolution in this film. Ajuma who is meant to be like a sister to Lami goes to the media to share a very big secret that can ruin Lami and the career she has built simply because Lami stopped giving her money and wants her to start taking obligations for herself. she even went further to call Lami a fake Christian saying she is living a fake life and even stole from Lami. After everything Ajuma did, Lami went ahead to hug her, acting like nothing happened. Really??

Ajuma was a jealous and bitter person with no job and no intention of getting a job or picking up any bills. She just wanted to mooch off of Lami and have Lami thank her for her friendship. Ajuma is not a friend. I don’t care if she has repented, she can’t be trusted so why keep her close??

Verdict
I would rate this film 4/5 because of good storyline, good music, good sound and picture quality and of course good set deign. The set designer did a great job with Lami’s office and home. Even the make up artist did a good job. Yes, yes Sophia Alakija(Lami) is no doubt a beautiful woman, it is natural for her but there was this bossy Lami looks that the make up artist gave her which was really great for the movie.

Do you think lami’s actions are justifiable or you think she was totally wrong?
What do you think about Lami keeping Ajuma close as a friend?

YOU AGAIN

Directed by Nick Mutuma and Natasha Likimani
Written by Natasha Likimani

Synopsis

You Again tells the story of Kingsley Baraza (Nick Mutuma) who finds himself working with his ex-Sophia (Mimi Mars) with whom he has a sketchy past. In this film, character Kingsley who is an unemployed nice guy appeared to be very socially conscious. Mimi Mars’s character, Sophia was portrayed to be the low maintenance girl who got duped by her former boss. As fate would have it, these ex lovebirds find themselves with a job that demands that they must find a way to work together in a professional capacity regardless of how annoying they find each other. sounds like fun right? Let’s get into the review…

Review
This movie was packed with a lot of social themes like corruption, sexism, sexual harassment in the workplace, and high unemployment rates. I love the fact that “romantic comedy” was used as a cloak to create a very relaxed atmosphere to talk about serious issues affecting the African youth from a Kenyan perspective. In this film, you see Kingsley who is a graduate with a master’s degree from an Australian university, struggling to gain employment and the few times he did, he got fired for choosing to be upright. While Sophia, on the other hand, gets scammed multiple times by different bosses. She is constantly taken advantage of because of her naivety and her gender. I liked that the movie spoke about knowing your worth and always negotiating your pay.

Verdict
I Would rate the movie 4 out of 5. I know the story wasn’t a new one but the story took an interesting turn. I also like the fact that one of their main focus was on social issues. Talk about the production, it was excellent considering the fact that this film was shot under 7days. The dialogue was on point, no too much talking. I also loved the humor in this film. Even the comedy in this film was relatable, for instance there was a scene where Sophia tried picking something from the floor and she ended up ripping her pants apart. That scene was so hilarious but we were still able to see how the life of an unemployed youth that does not have a boxed up background can be, I mean she couldn’t afford clothes that fit. Another interesting scene was where they were about to go on air(TV) and they just kept fight and their producers could hear all that they were saying🤣🤣 workplace drama. The stars of this film need no introduction as they did justice to the film.

21 BRIDGES

21 Bridges tell the story of Andre Davis who lost his father at the age of 13. After that tragic day, he swore to himself that he would uphold the law, always pursuing truth and justice no matter the cost because that’s what his father had done as a police officer. 19 years later, Andre is a renowned NYPD detective making good on his word. FBI agents and fellow officers know him to be by the book—an agent with a strict moral compass, unwilling to bend in the face of crime, injustice or temptation.
21 Bridges starring the aforementioned hero, Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), and produced by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame) is a thrill ride we haven’t seen the likes of in a while. Chadwick Boseman’s rendition of Andre Davis is intense, and the actor has a commanding on-screen presence as well. He continues to display a lot of range in his acting repertoire to prove, yet again, why he deserves to be a leading man.
The movie is fast-paced and has the feel of a modern techno-thriller with various elements of the NYPD coming together to track down the killers. Although the plot is neither new nor inventive in any way, it has an interesting setup with perspectives from both sides of the law.
particularly the action, well enough to keep the pace engaging throughout. If you’re familiar with the crime thriller genre, then chances are you’ll predict the outcome because we’ve seen this story play out many times before.

I would rate 21 Bridges 4/5 because despite the familiar storyline you’ll still enjoy ‘21 Bridges’, because the action combined with its competent cast and their performances make it highly watchable.

TYLER PERRY’S SISTAS

Perry’s Sistas tells the story of a group of single black women as they navigate the ups-and-downs of modern life, which includes careers, friendships, romances, and even social media. The comedy-drama series features Andi Barnes, an ambitious divorce lawyer, Danni King, a funny and fearless airport employee, Karen Mott, a street-smart hair salon owner, and Sabrina Hollins, a smart and stylish bank teller.
This comedy series was written, directed and executive produced by Tyler Perry.
The TV show takes viewers on a roller coaster ride of emotions and moments that epitomize “squad goals.”
Sistas is clearly entertaining, whether one can relate to the characters or not… I’ve laughed at every episode so far. This story is so full of suspense and would make you glued to your tv all the time and you wish it was longer than the usual 40 minutes.
Yes, this series is stereotypical because it shows black women in a negative light in some aspects. This show may not be a hundred percent realistic but it sure tells the story of someone out there.

If you know Tyler Perry well and you follow his storylines, you would know that he writes about black women and their lives around men. This show isn’t from criticism as viewers commented on the set design, acting, storyline and actors.
This show is on its 21st episode so we have 2 more episodes to go for this season. New characters are coming on this show but I can’t say if it is for this season or the next.
You should go check this series out for three reasons

  1. It is funny and entertaining🤣
  2. It is relatable to an extent
  3. These actors are new and I think they deserve a chance to show you what they’ve got up their sleeves 😉
I would have given you names of characters to look out for but I can’t because all the characters have something interesting about them.

JUMANJI:THE NEXT LEVEL

Like its predecessor, this latest “Jumanji” movie combines fantasy action and adventure with some comedy, a touch of romance, and real-life lessons about courage, friendship, and empathy—all with the help of some low-key race and gender fluidity.  Spencer (Alex Wolff) is now a freshman at NYU.

Maintaining his romance with Martha (Morgan Turner) long-distance has been rocky and as he returns home for Christmas break he is not sure whether they are on or off.

In this second part of Jumanji, new characters were added like Danny DeVito as Spencer’s grandfather Eddie. Danny Glover as Milo, Eddie’s estranged former business partner. One thing led to another and Spencer misses the confidence he had as the video game avatar Dr. Smolder Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson). And so, he goes back inside the game where the life and death challenges somehow seem more familiar and easier to handle than real life. When he does not return, Martha, Bethany (Madison Iseman) and Fridge (Ser’Darius Blain) re-enter the game to rescue him. There’s a bit of a switch, though. The game is once again up to mischief, and this time, while Martha is again dance-fighting expert Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan), it is Eddie who shows up as Dr. Bravestone. Milo is the weapons knapsack-carrying Mouse Finbar (Kevin Hart), while Fridge is the former Bethany avatar, pudgy map-expert Dr. Shelly Oberon (Jack Black).

Despite the twist is this part,I don’t know what happened, it wasn’t as intriguing as the first part

I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves video games, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Heart, and Jack Black. Trust me when I say that they are the best part of the film.Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart all had really great chemistry. The back and forward humor between them made some scenes enjoyable .

Was the movie great? No . what it terrible? Not really. It wasn’t as intriguing as the trailer presented it to be. Left to me ,I feel like there was no need for a part 2 or even if there was a need for a part 2 ,this part 2 didn’t meet up to my expectations.

The film was just an Ok film for me because even at some point they lost me, I was bored at some point and just wanted the movie to end. Do I think you should watch it ?? Yes ,for the love of Kevin Hart , Dwayne Johnson and Nick Jones.

Sugar Rush

Sugar Rush was directed by Kayode and produced by Jadesola Osiberu. You are definitely familiar with Jadesola Osiberu if you have seen Isoken. This movie features Adesua Etomi, Bisola Aiyeola, Bimbo Ademoye, Williams Uchemba, BankyW, Omoni Oboli, Toke Makinwa, Tobi Bakare, Mawuli Gavor, Adedimeji Lateef and Uzor Arukwe.

Sugar rush tells the story of the sugar sisters, Sussy Sugar, the serious minded one,Lola Sugar, the one after the good life and luxury and Bola Sugar ,the most comedic one because every of her statements were hilarious. These sisters are hustlers, trying to make ends meet. They have a sick mother that they try to take care of. Sussy and Bola found their selves in situation that gave them $800,000, ran away with it, used it to take care of their mum and live life. Unfounately, the money belong to a number of people who came after them.

Can we talk about the opening sequence of the story? It was engaging and captivating. It created an expectation for what to come from the movie. The camera angles, cinematography, production design and art direction made the film enjoyable. I enjoyed how the story was told and also the special effects were good and clean. I feel the casting for the film was deliberate as the casts killed the film. The combination of Adesua, Bisola and Bimbo ,the natural relationship they share outside the script made the movie realistic and enjoyable. We could see it was a natural flow for them.

This movie is a comedy and you are definitely going to laugh. Although I feel the resolution was weak and flat, they could have ended it on a strong note. But you would definitely enjoy watching Sugar Rush
